I am writing today with the sad news of the passing of our beautiful friend, Clem. We lost Clem to cancer last week and cannot image how we are going to manage life without him.
We adopted Clem from Dirk’s Fund on November 28, 2010 and that became his new “birthday” which we only had the privilege to celebrate with him on one occasion, but boy was it a party – complete with yummy doggy cake and all!!! We could not have EVER asked for a more wonderful, special companion than Clem. He was my constant shadow and no matter how tired or how bad he felt, he never let me out of his sight. The second my husband got up for work each day, Clem would get up as soon as he heard the shower go off and go in and have a rather loud and lengthy “talk” with Kevin and then come and curl up next to me in bed. Complete with his head on the pillow! He loved the pool and would go outside and look longingly at it in the winter as if begging us to take the cover off so he could jump in!
He was the star of Kennelwood when he went in for his monthly grooming. They took so many pictures of him that he his pictures have taken over those of our human children on the fridge 🙂 He was a wonderful addition to our lives and meant the world to us. We only wish that he could have stayed for a while longer, but we know that he is now keeping our other golden girl happy somewhere that they are no longer in pain.
I am sorry to share this sad news with you, but I know that your adopties are just as important to you as they are to the forever homes that they go to. Thank you so much for sharing him with us. Hopefully we will see you again, when the time is right.
